Timber, warm colour and soft light can reduce institutional hardness, but they cannot explain a procedure, receive a concern or replace attentive care
Material warmth should support legible operation, privacy and human communication

When atmosphere obscures direction, it becomes an image of care rather than an environment that helps care take place.
The design consequence lies in legible arrival, privacy gradients, vertical separation, acoustics, waiting and thresholds that reduce unnecessary exposure.

The room should stand beside the people providing care, never attempt to speak in their place.
