A house cannot wait for every guest to leave
Most homes prepare for visitors in short bursts: a few things are put away, the room settles, and ordinary life returns when the door closes. PF801 starts from a different condition. At design-development stage, the programme brings a residence and restaurant into one project, so public hospitality is part of the daily plan rather than an occasional event.
Privacy has to be drawn into the sequence
A wall between public and private rooms would be an incomplete answer. Arrival, sightlines, service routes and thresholds must work together so residents can choose when to join the public life of the project and when to withdraw from it.
This is a design intention, not an account of how the completed building performs. A house can receive people every day only when the people who live there are not required to remain hosts all day.
